About the Artist
I can't remember a time in my life when I wasn't drawing, painting or sculpting. My dad was a fine artist therefore I was always encouraged to be creative. I began exhibiting my paintings in high school and won two National Scholastic Art Awards at 16. When I moved to California I attended Otis Art Institute while taking workshops with Sergei Bongart. I moved to Honolulu, Hawaii and attended the Honolulu Art Academy where I studied under Jade Fon and Tom Nicholas. I also attended the University of Hawaii and studied with Elmer Bishoff, Paul Wonner and Myra Cantor. When I returned to California I received a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from Academy of Art University in San Francisco then moved to San Diego in 1987. In 1995 I joined my husband in Moscow, Russia for a year and attended Academy of Art, Moscow. Today you can find me painting in my studio in Little Italy or teaching art to children in the San Diego County school system with ArtReach.
